1) Research on the education structure of the city you are visiting. (i.e. Primary school- secondary school etc)
Shanghai was the first to achieve 100% primary school and junior high school enrollment. It was also one of the first to achieve a nearly universal secondary school attendance.
Shanghai's education system is not all about paperwork and exams. They also test the application of student's real life skills. MCQ surprisingly does not appear in the city's exams.
3) Firm up 3 questions you would like to find answers to during the immersion that could help you with your comparative studies.
1. Cost of their school fees and items needed for school (e.g. Uniform, mathematical set)
2. Do they have a program similar to our CCA, and if they do, how much time and devotion is spent on it.
3. What time they have to wake up and report to school on a normal day, and the time they are typically released and reach home.
